Sorry about posting my group project critique on the Digital Writing Blog. OOPS! Here is my manifesto!
As I look back on my manifesto, I can’t help but to laugh. I realize that although my thoughts were clearly stated, they were very much exaggerated. I look back and can’t even believe half of the stuff I wrote. I think most of my goals have been accomplished in this class to the best of my ability, especially by combining different styles together.
I would have never realized just how the incorporation of sounds and pictures can change the theme of texts all together. Now I can easily say that I enjoy reading all different kinds of literature online. My ideas from the previous manifesto have not changed, I think it’s still wonderful to combine all kinds of genres together and I still agree with my statement “technology is the way to success”.
I can’t express how cool it is that our works are on the internet for people to see, since I haven’t taken many computer classes in my years at college, this was a big step forward for me.
As for my steps that are required to persevere, I think I should add a few more:
1.I will not leave things for the last minute, instead be prompt in turning in my work and not procrastinate.
2.Looking at other people work is essential, because I’m not perfect and you can always learn from your peers.
Overall I still believe that my final project will be the best out of all my other works in this class. It was definitely a long process for me due to not having any previous knowledge of the material. However, my work will have its own unique advantage just because it’s MY work! I’m proud to say that this class did help me conquer a lot of my goals.

critique 3
After looking at many literary journals, I found the One Story, I started off by reading the journal of that week which was about meteorology what I noticed right away was how realistic the story was. I felt like anyone could relate to being sitting on the sofa watching the weather channel when they have called for bad weather in your area. As I went to look at previous journals, they were exactly like this one, people writing about their experiences but with their own little pizzazz.
I think this digital journal has a great advantage because it short and simple. Instead of picking up a book with multiple of stories in it, this gives you a way to read one at time without having to skim through a novel looking for the story. I think another advantage is that it’s not time consuming, they come out with a new story every week. So if you want you could have it sent to you by email, and who wouldn’t have time for one short story every week? It also an advantage because they have a variety of topics instead of having to focus on a book of journals that is about the same subject.
I would love to have one of my stories on One Story web cite, I think it would be awesome because there is no rules on structure, you basically can write whatever you want. This journal seems to be laid back, it's not as fancy as others but its get directly to the point of the person writing the journal for that week. It’s nice that there are many different authors, so you can see different people’s style of writing.

Critique on Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland:)
Okay so the remix I liked the most was Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland. I actually had looked at right before class even started and was really impressed. However, at the time I didn’t even know that it was the text from Alice in Wonderland. What I liked was that her whole presentation was set up very neatly. She didn’t remix the pictures that much, but I thought that was a good thing. Her idea of having celebrities as the characters of Alice in Wonderland was very creative. I think the characters she picked were so funny. She couldn’t have done a better job with the playboy bunny and Elvis! I also liked how the pictures had a comic look to them that seemed to fit perfect with the whole theme of her remix. The background that she put her pictures over top of was a great accent to her page. The light color really brought out her pictures.
Overall I wouldn’t have done anything else to the photo’s because then that would take away the purpose of the remix. She could have done a little bit more with the text, like add different colors or maybe even more of the text of Alice in Wonderland. One thing that I liked the best is that she incorporated her own style in her remix, since she is known for keeping us up on the “latest gossip”, that is something I would have loved to do in mine, but I didn’t even think of it that way.

my website and critique
Okay so I got my web site set up. It’s very plain but I put a picture of my 5 month old daughter:) here is the link: http://mason.gmu.edu/~cshort1/
As for the critique there were so many choices… it took me forever just to pick one. I really liked RedRidingHood and Storyland. However, I chose The Fall of the Site of Marsha. I don’t know why but I thought no one would write about it. The fall of Marsha site is about this lady Marsha who built a site for angels. She has some sort of weird obsession towards the angels and is inviting them to check out her site. Her page is done over three different time periods: the summer, spring and fall.
In the spring of 1998, it looked like a regular web site. She explains how she always liked angel stuff, which seems pretty ordinary because a lot of people are a collector of angels. However, she says that things weren’t doing to good in her life because she lost her father and job last year. Her friend Bits told her to design a web page and her husband could help her out with the HTML codes. Overall when you first looked at summer, there is nothing wrong. The World Wide Web has many sites just like hers.
However, when you take a look at the spring and fall. It’s like WOW! What is going here, supposedly the angels were taking over the web page and they would write mean things about Marsha but then Mike would go and scratch it out, but you can still see what they wrote. In the summer they accused her of neglecting her father and that she was sinner. The angels kept writing that Bit’s is on their side. Okay, well at least the summer was readable once you clicked on the fall; it has to be read many times to even understand what those angels were writing. They had completely taken over the page, adding the letter "X" into everything. This freaked Marsha out so bad she was not even contributing to the page anymore. Bits and Mike wrote that she is resting and under medication.
The most change is the obviously the destruction of pictures on the site, the angels are all twisted around like someone went and cut up the pictures into pieces and then tried to paste them back together. In the summer and spring Marsha’s personal picture was still normal, but by the fall the picture of her was blurred and she looked liked a crazy lady.
The fall of Marsha’s site was a little creepy when the web pages became corrupt, but at the same time quite humorous (which I’m not sure if it was suppose to be). The author use links to help the audience understand what was going on and to reveal things about Marsha, like her husband cheating on her (the link was "private doors"). It was also creative for the author to break the web sites down into three different seasons because this way it was evident the changes that were occurring.
I can’t say I loved The fall of the Site of Marsha, but there was definitely something about it that intrigued me. After taking a look at some of the other electronic collections, I noticed that this was easy to understand and it didn’t require flash or any type of downloads. All you really had to do was read and click on two links.
