Critique on Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland:)

Okay so the remix I liked the most was Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland. I actually had looked at right before class even started and was really impressed. However, at the time I didn’t even know that it was the text from Alice in Wonderland. What I liked was that her whole presentation was set up very neatly. She didn’t remix the pictures that much, but I thought that was a good thing. Her idea of having celebrities as the characters of Alice in Wonderland was very creative. I think the characters she picked were so funny. She couldn’t have done a better job with the playboy bunny and Elvis! I also liked how the pictures had a comic look to them that seemed to fit perfect with the whole theme of her remix. The background that she put her pictures over top of was a great accent to her page. The light color really brought out her pictures.
Overall I wouldn’t have done anything else to the photo’s because then that would take away the purpose of the remix. She could have done a little bit more with the text, like add different colors or maybe even more of the text of Alice in Wonderland. One thing that I liked the best is that she incorporated her own style in her remix, since she is known for keeping us up on the “latest gossip”, that is something I would have loved to do in mine, but I didn’t even think of it that way.

  1. I used Elvis because I am a huge fan, and really just wanted a chance to work with something I like. As for the Playboy Bunny... I couldn't think of anyone else to use. I think a few of my choices were obvious, some creative, and others were limited. I wasn't sure how to combine the images with the text, but I like the sort of "refrigerator poetry" effect that a task as simple as copy&paste creates. Adding color to the text may have mad the images more seamless, but I don't know how to do that. And then I would have had to add color to the borders also...which I also don't know how to do. I definitely agree it could have been executed much better, but I really have no editing skills and had to work with what I know.
